Medford police search for suspect in theft of trailer loaded with family keepsakes

Medford police say they are searching for a suspect in connection with a theft of a trailer loaded with family keepsakes.

For Ron Copsetta, the theft of his brand new Scout Bravo trailer was bad enough, but it was the loss of all the contents inside that left Copsetta heartbroken.

"Just personal items. Yes, personal items that belonged to my dad, my grandfather, my grandmother and my great-grandparents," he told FOX 29.

Some of the items stolen from inside trailer were Navy uniforms dating back to the early 1900s. There were family photos, trophies and documents, along with toy Hess trucks that have extreme personal value to Copsetta.

Medford police say the trailer was stolen from Copsetta's home along Church Road. According to police, they believe a man took the trailer using a black Chevy Avalanche Z-71 truck.

Copsetta and Medford police recovered the trailer Monday along a road in nearby Mount Laurel. There wasn't a scratch on it, but it was empty. Copsetta is hoping someone will help him get his family's precious belongings back.

"To put a price on this stuff, I would guess a couple hundred dollars to me priceless."

The black avalanche z-71 has chrome door handles and a chrome gas tank lid. It may be a 2002-2006 model. Anyone with information can call medford police.
