Jury seated, memorial for 3-year-old gone for dad's trial

A jury has been seated and opening statements are set in the murder and child endangerment trial of a man, whose alleged victim was his own 3-year-old son.

A shrine to young Brendan Creato -- on a tree in a wooded South Jersey park, where his body was found -- was removed over the weekend.

Opening statements in David Creato Jr.'s trial are set for Thursday and the jury is expected to visit the park at some point. Creato's lawyer expressed concern over the memorial possibly influencing the jury.

Investigators accused the 23-year-old Haddon Township man of killing Brendan in October 2015, because he was an impediment to his relationship with a teenage girlfriend.
