Messy morning snow-mix now just rain, except Lehigh Valley

Only the Lehigh Valley and areas north are still being impacted by the wintry mix that moved through areas around Philadelphia, Thursday morning.

Earlier, it was wet wherever you were. The morning rush hour was the worst of it, featuring snow, freezing rain, and plain rain.

Now, in the late morning, temperatures have risen and the rain-snow line headed north, so it's just rain for the rest of us.

That rain should be moving out in the afternoon.

Also, the temperature will be getting warmer. Philadelphia should have a high of 47.

FOX 29's Sue Serio warned us to drive extra carefully or put trips until later, when there would only be rain.

Unfortunately, numerous car crashes have been reported in the Allentown and Reading areas. To the north, PennDOT reduced speed limits on Interstates 80, 380 and 84 and Route 33.

When it's over, the Poconos could have four inches of snow on the ground. Look for an inch in the Lehigh Valley, and a coating in Reading and Lancaster. The Philadelphia suburbs, Delaware and all of South Jersey should have all rain.

Friday will be much colder and it'll feel even worse because of the wind.

Then, the temperature will moderate as we head into the weekend and 2017.
