Missing Montgomery County man's body found

Lower Merion police announced the body of the missing man they were looking for since Monday has been found.

Richard Rizzo, 47, had not been heard from since Friday, and his home was found unlocked and vacant.

Rizzo was the head of administration for the US Attorney's office. He reported to work on Thursday but had Friday off, according to family members who called police when he didn't respond to their calls.

Saturday, officers found Rizzo's truck and cell phone in the 1400 block of Mill Creek Road in Gladwyne, but not him during an extensive search.

Wednesday, police said, "At about 6 p.m. Monday, Mr. Rizzo's body was recovered from a heavily wooded area in proximity to the Barkers Mill property and Mill Creek."

They thanked regional search and rescue organizations such as the Philadelphia Police Department's Dive Unit.

They added, "While the investigation into Mr. Rizzo's death is ongoing, there is no initial evidence of foul play."

Rizzo's relatives said the Main Line man was estranged from his wife. Neighbors said the couple had children together.
