Man wanted for questioning surrenders to police

A man wanted for questioning in the death of a 4-year-old in North Philadelphia turned himself into police.

Police say Demetrius Williams surrendered to authorities around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. He has not been charged at this time.

Last Friday, authorities charged the 4-year-old girl's mother in connection with her death. Investigators accuse Shakeia Holmes, 25, of trying to cover up what happened on Thursday in the 1800 block of N. 20th Street.

Holmes faces a third-degree murder charge in the death of her daughter, Sani.

Police say there was some kind of domestic argument between her and her boyfriend. Originally, police believed the girl shot herself.
