Nasty Note Left On Veteran's Car, Sheriff Warns Author

QUEENSBURY, NY - When a local Iraq war veteran went shopping Thursday morning, he did not expect to find a note on his car.

The anonymous note came with ugly language, and blasted the Marine for having a purple heart, and serving overseas.

The note read, "I see you have a Purple Heart sticker and Iraq War veteran sticker. It's too bad you were only wounded, the world would be a better place if you were killed. All of you Islam-a-Phobe vets deserve to die."

That note, has people shaking their heads, calling the author pathetic.

The note was shown the note to Lt. Steven Stockdale from the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

He says the author could face charges.

"That's the first thing I look for, when we see something like that, is there any potential criminality?" said Lt. Stockdale.

He says it actually is illegal to leave a note on a windshield, but the biggest disappointment is that the cowardly author who thought writing the note was okay.

"Communication these days has gotten very easy for people who want to stay anonymous. And it takes a lot more courage to strap on an 80 pound pack and go to the Middle East and fight for your country than it does to scribble on a note and leave it cowardly behind on somebody's windshield.'
