7th grade girl being bullied caught on camera

- Surprising video has come out of Denver showing a seventh grade girl getting bullied at school.  The girl's father was not informed by school officials which has him asking questions.

The beating video goes on for almost a minute.

Robert Medina, father of the girl, said, "She's on the ground and she kicked her in the face."

Medina says his 7th grade daughter was assaulted and hit repeatedly by an 8th grade girl in a classroom at Center of Hope School in Lakewood.

It happened Thursday morning and Medina says they tried to tell the school his daughter was being bullied.

"I was angry, I was outraged."

He's just as angry at the way the school handled things.

"You're supposed to call parents right away if not law enforcement to say look this is what happened,” Medina said.

He says his daughter's friend took pictures with a cell phone and they found out after his daughter sent a text to a relative.

Medina says the school never called his family.

"No phone call whatsoever; that's so unprofessional."

KDVR confirmed that the school did not call police about the alleged assault either.

"They said they had already called the cops which was a lie we had to call the cops when we got there,” Medina said.

But the school did call police to report Medina, when he rushed there concerned and angry.

"I think they were trying to cover it up and not call law enforcement,” he said.

Center of Hope is a private school and says it followed all of its policies and procedures.

Other school districts say that while each case can be different, their policies require police be called in cases like this, especially when a student is injured as Medina says his daughter was.

"The cops should have been called and shown the video and let it go from there but they didn't do none of that,” Medina said.

Police can't comment because the case involved juveniles.

Both girls were suspended, and Medina says that's not fair to his daughter either.
