Cops: Pregnant woman, unborn child fatally shot by neighbor who felt 'disrespected' after argument

(INSIDE EDITION) - An expectant mother and her unborn daughter were shot and killed by a neighbor over an argument about loud music, police said.

Shanika Minor, 24, is on the loose after allegedly shooting her nine-month pregnant neighbor Tamecca Perry, 23, and the fetus a week after they fought about music being blasted from one of their Milwaukee homes, according to authorities

The two women had fought about a week before the killing about the noise and Minor “thought that the victim was disrespecting her,” Minor’s mother reportedly told officials.

Minor knocked on Perry’s door to settle the argument a week later about 3 a.m. Sunday, carrying a black firearm, officials said.

Linda Minor, the suspect’s mother, said she tried to stop the pair from fighting, but her daughter raised the gun and shot her pregnant neighbor, the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel reported.

Minor fled in a car and is being sought by police. She faces two counts of intentional homicide.

Emergency officials tried to save Perry, but the expectant mom died at the scene, cops said.

“The victim was pregnant at the time of her death and the child did not survive,” police said in a statement.

Perry’s boyfriend and two daughters were in the home when she was killed, the Journal Sentinel wrote.

“She was loved by all who knew her, and she is sorely missed,” her godmother, Sharyn Jones, wrote on a GoFundMe page created to raise funds for Perry’s home-going service.

Referring to her goddaughter as “Te Te,” Jones wrote, “There are so many people in shock from this loss… But rest angel, I’ll see you again in heaven.”
