(INSIDE EDITION) - A New York teen plummeted to her death this week while hopping between Manhattan rooftops, police say.
Natalya Jimenez, 15, was with two 14-year-old friends Friday afternoon as the group hopped across three rooftops in the Hells Kitchen neighborhood.
Police say when the group turned back, Jimenez slipped and fell five stories between two buildings on 10th Avenue.
Police arrived in response to a 911 call and discovered Jimenez unresponsive at 4:26 p.m., PIX 11 reports.
Jimenez was rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The teen lived above her family's pizza shop a few dozen blocks away from where she was found.
"My granddaughter was the best girl you got in New York," the girl's grandfather, Rosalino Mangano, told PIX11.
Residents of the building placed candles outside to honor Jimenez, CBS New York reports.
A shocked resident of the building, Angel Rivera, said the gap that Jimenez tried to jump is quite wide.
“It’s a pretty scary jump," she told CBS New York. "I don’t know what they were thinking."
