Girl with inoperable brain tumor named honorary homecoming queen

- A little girl from Missouri who is battling brain cancer received a special gift on Friday.

Jordan Overcast was crowned honorary homecoming queen at Harrisonville High School after students there heard about her story and wanted to give her an unforgettable experience.

Josie Clark, a senior at the school said, “I haven't seen us this excited about something in a really long time.”

Now, Jordan’s family is speaking out about the awesome gift, and how it has touched them.

They also are talking about the social media campaign they started in hopes of getting Jordan a meeting with Taylor Swift.

“When she was hospitalized five years ago, we had to play 'Shake It Off or Never Ever Getting Back Together Again. And we finally had to record it and put it by her bedside every night. And that was the way she went to sleep,” Misty Overcast, Jordan’s mother, said.

“Just want something. I want her to know that she's a special girl. And she's brought a lot of love and closeness to everybody. So it means a lot,” Donna Overcast, Jordan’s grandmother said.

“But if she doesn't pick Jordan. It's okay because we will still follow Taylor. We will still keep Dancing and Shaking it Off.”

Jordan is hoping to get her meeting with Swift at her concert in Kansas City next week.
