LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MO (WTXF) - Daniel and Michelle Schliessman’s autistic teenage son was allegedly found roaming the streets, naked, the night of September 7, 2015.
According to Daily Mail, the teenager was seen darting in and out of traffic on U.S. route 65 and was reportedly almost hit by several passing vehicles. Officers were called the Schliessman’s home just after 7 a.m. on Sunday after the incident to assess the situation.
Upon arrival the officers were disturbed to find the couple’s four children living in squalor.
“Inside the residence, dog feces, cat feces and vomit from dogs and cats were found in multiple areas of the house on the floor, including the children's bedrooms,” according to court records.
Crystal meth and paraphernalia used for cooking the drug, which includes a propane-style torch was also left in easy reach of their young children, Daily Mail reports.
All four children allegedly lacked basic hygiene and were deprived of having toothbrushes. Reportedly, officers also found the children were dirty and the oldest, a 15-year-old girl, had open sores on her arms and legs.
"All four children were dirty and it appeared the children had not bathed for an extended period of times," court records stated.
The children have all been examined and taken into proper care.
Daniel Schliessman III, 45, and his wife, Michelle Schliessman, 36, were charged with neglect and drug offenses. However, both claim that they had only moved into the house four days ago.
