New Jersey boy made honorary officer and superhero

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ (WTXF) A young boy in New Jersey has an important title tonight. Mount Holly Police recognized his bravery and made him an honorary officer.

7-year-old Darien Deeg Hoefling had two emergency surgeries last summer to remove a life-threatening brain tumor. Deeg is a big fan of superheroes and considers his local officers the biggest superheroes of them all. He even made them all special keychains.

On Thursday, the officers made him an honorary officer and superhero But Deeg already knows he's a superhero just ask him.

"Because I've been through a lot. I beat a brain tumor," he said.

Deeg tells us the officers are superheroes beca use they keep Mount Holly safe.
