New Jersey State Police lend support to Puerto Rico

The New Jersey State Police sent an advance team of volunteers September 29, 2017 to lend support to citizens suffering in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The powerful storm devastated the U.S. island territory September 20.

Members of the state police have posted updates on their Facebook page since arriving on the island. October 21, they posted several photos.

They ask for the public's help in whatever aid the public can give. They also ask the public to keep all involved in thoughts and prayers.

The death toll as a result of the effects of Hurricane Maria stands at 48. The hurricane hit the Puerto Rico as a category 4 storm. The government states that about 85 percent if the island has no power.
