NJ brush fire far from contained in second day

The brush fire burning in and around Browns Mills, Burlington County, is just about 25 percent contained and some roads in the area are closed.

FOX 29's Dave Kinchen reports one of those intersections is Pemberton Browns Mills Road and Juliustown Road.

There were about six to ten spot fires north of Juliustown Road.

The reason for the closures has to do with snags, which are dead trees in danger of falling and hurting someone.

The fire started Wednesday afternoon.

Crews worked through the night, fighting it both on the ground and from the air. There are about 100 firefighters on the ground.

A mobile home had to be evacuated.

Dry and windy conditions helped spread the fire. Now, the wind died down but authorities are worried it'll pick up again and change direction, making the fire's path unpredictable.
