NJTP Reopened in Both Directions Following Cherry Hill Gas Leak

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) - The New Jersey Turnpike and passenger rail service in southern New Jersey has resumed after a shutdown due to a gas leak.

The Turnpike was shut down between Exits 3 and 4 in the Philadelphia suburbs early Friday afternoon after a gas leak was discovered near the road in Cherry Hill.

Service was also suspended for the PATCO commuter train line between the Lindenwold and Woodcrest stations and New Jersey Transit's Atlantic City line between Philadelphia and Lindenwold. The rail lines run along the same route in that stretch.

All the transportation was restored by about 1:20 p.m. Friday.
