Service resumes at North Philadelphia subway stop

Service has resumed on SEPTA's Broad Street Line after someone was stuck and killed by a train early Tuesday morning.

Philadelphia police report a woman jumped onto the southbound tracks at 7:21am, in an apparent suicide. The North Philadelphia station is at Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue.

Then, SEPTA started running shuttle buses in both directions to accommodate passengers between the Allegheny station, north of North Philadelphia -- and the Susquehanna-Dauphin station, to the south.

SEPTA also says its earlier signal problems that had all Broad Street subway trains stopping at Olney, and not continuing on to Fern Rock, have been fixed and no more shuttle bus service is needed there.
