Ocean City, New Jersey named 'Happiest Seaside Town in America'

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (WTXF) - A popular New Jersey shore town has been named the "Happiest Seaside Town in America" by Coastal Living magazine.

Coastal Living recently published their annual rankings of the happiest small waterfront communities in America.

In their 2018 rankings, they selected Ocean City, New Jersey as the happiest waterfront town in the country!

The magazine says Ocean City has a residential historic district full of Victorian bungalows and beach cottages. Coastal living says those features making living in Ocean City year-round feel like an old-fashioned vacation.

Coastal living also pointed to other features in Ocean City like amusement parks, the availability of saltwater taffy, and the eight miles of pale sand beaches. The town's status as a "dry town," meaning liquor is not served at any of the town's establishments, keeps the "whole vibe family friendly."
