Officials: 2 workers injured in Center City

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) Officials say two people working at the PECO sub-station were injured when a flash fire happened in Center City.

It happened shortly before 5 p.m. Monday at 23rd and Market Streets.

Authorities say two men were working underground when the flash fire occurred.

Police say a 35-year-old man suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his body. He was transported to Temple Burn Unit. According to police, a second man suffered superficial burns on his face. He was transported to Presbyterian Hospital.
