PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Health officials say it was norovirus that La Salle University students have come down with in recent days. According to health officials, they are working with the school to educate students on prevention.
"I woke up and it was terrible. It was the worst I ever felt, seriously," freshman Nick Andresen said.
It's been some rough going for La Salle University psychology freshman Andresen who says he came down with a sickness that has cascaded across campus.
"I woke up Wednesday at about 5:45 a.m.—threw up. Between 6 o'clock in the morning and 11 I threw up 6 times," he said. "My body is still really fatigued and I can't really eat anything. So, hopefully I'm better by tomorrow."
He says he's been eating off campus just in case and bought bottled water by the stack.
Everyone FOX 29 spoke with says they know someone at school under the weather. The university says about 30 students got sick on April 11 and 14 more students fell ill on April 12 though the university points out less than 1 percent has been affected.
Still, students say it's enough to cause alarm.
"I think it's ridiculous. That many people getting sick that fast," Andresen.
Students are urged to visit the Student Health Center if they feel sick.
