Search is on for how car plunged into Delaware River

Divers from the Philadelphia Police Marine unit are in the Delaware River off Oregon Avenue, searching for anybody who may have been in the car that plunged into the water overnight.

The call came at about 2:50am Sunday.

Police said a Buick was flying down Oregon Avenue and didn't make a turn Columbus Boulevard. Instead, it plowed into a fence, went airborne and then into the river.

The police and fire departments showed up, along with the Coast Guard.

They had a tow truck pull the car from the water and the windows were blown out.

The only thing found inside were car keys.

The investigation continues into how the car got into the river and who was involved.
