Orphaned Infant Koala Rescued in Hawks Nest

(STORYFUL) An infant koala found wet and alone in the coastal town of Hawks Nest, on the Hunter coast of New South Wales, on June 6 is on the mend after being abandoned by her mother.

Hunter Koala Preservation Society Care and Rescue took in the koala, now named Hawks Eye Louise after her rescuer, shared videos and photos of the baby joey.

According to the rescue center, Louise fell from a tree, and, after spending an hour crying for her mother, the assumed mother koala was unresponsive. When Louise was taken to the rescue, she was "very cold." In a series of Facebook posts, the center has been updating on Louise's condition.
