Ousted Delaware principal back to school following public outcry

A beloved Delaware principal is back on the job Tuesday morning.

Salome Thomas-El of Thomas Edison Charter School in Wilmington was placed on administrative leave last week, but teachers, parents and students rallied behind him.

The school board didn't tell the community, prompting a teacher "sickout," then a surprise half-day from the kids and outrage among parents.

"He's a great guy all around," former student Kenyatta Lucas told FOX 29. "I feel like he supported us, and I feel like we owed it to him to support him."

"There are always storms in our lives, many storms in our community… but we need to be able to learn how to dance in the storm," Thomas-El said.

FOX 29 is told that Thomas-El and school board members met behind closed doors and resolved their issues.
