Water main breaks in Kingsessing

A 16-inch water main broke in a transmission line, which turned the intersection into a fast flowing stream in the city's Kingsessing section.

"I rushed in to make sure nothing was wrong with my store. Luckily, we didn't have any water in the basement or the store."

Pharmacy owner Stephen Reses says the break is hurting his business. SEPTA Trolley 13 is not running at all because the problem is in under the tracks. The G Bus is being detoured as a result of the mess.

Cars are being temporarily detoured around the area. Shuttle buses are running in place of the trolley, so SEPTA says there's minimal impact on its customers.

Corner Stone Christian Academy did send students home for the day to avoid the chaos. The good news is everyone does have water service.
