(STORYFUL) A cloud of ash, reaching a reported 37,000 feet, rose over Mount Pavlof following a new eruption from the remote Alaskan volcano on Sunday, March 27.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory raised the threat warning for pilots flying near the volcano and nearby Cold Bay city, which is around 600 miles west of Anchorage, to red. This photo was captured from a passenger plane window as it flew nearby.
