Pedestrian struck and killed by SEPTA bus in Center City

A SEPTA bus struck and killed a pedestrian overnight at 11 th and Walnut Streets in Center City, according to Philadelphia Police.

Per SEPTA and Chief Inspector Scott Small, after the incident, the bus driver was flagged down by a taxi at 11 th and Vine Streets. The taxi driver then informed the bus driver that they struck someone.

The SEPTA driver allegedly was not aware that they struck someone.

The person who was struck was DOA.

The bus involved in the incident was a route 23 bus. The incident remains under investigation.
