Person struck, killed by Amtrak train near Holmesburg station
Officials say a person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train near the Holmesburg station.
It happened around 5 p.m. Friday.
According to officials, Amtrak Train 651 - the Keystone Service operating from New York to Philadelphia and then out to Harrisburg - struck a trespasser on the tracks near the Holmesburg station.
There were 391 passengers on board the train at the time - no injuries reported to any passengers or crew. The passengers were transferred to another train to continue their journey.
Expect some congestion-related delays in the area.
