Police: Armed man robs Dollar General store

East Germantown (WTXF) - Police say a local Dollar General store was robbed Monday night, and now they're looking for the suspect.

It happened around 8:30 P.M. when a man entered the store on the 600 block of East Chelten Ave. According to surveillance video released by police, he first retreated to the back of the store.

Police say after several minutes he went to the front of the store and demanded the 18-year-old woman behind the counter to open the cash register. According to police, he lifted his shirt to show a black gun and said, "You know what this is. Give me all that. Hurry up."

A second employee then opened the register and put an unknown amount of cash in the suspect's bag.

Police say the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
