Police Chief Praises Neighborhood That Came Together To Search for Missing Boy

When 4-year-old Skylar Cronin went missing in Carneys Point, New Jersey Thursday, an entire town stepped up to help with the search.

Late Thursday night, The Carneys Point Police Department took to Facebook to post an alert that young Skylar had been missing from his home.

The department posted a photo of him along with a short description.

A short time later, the department posted an update. They informed their followers that Skylar had been found safely, and thanked their followers for assisting in the search.

Fortunately, he was sound asleep under his bed.

Despite the swift and happy ending to a situation that could have turned tragic, officers at the department say the observed something spectacular.

The morning after Skylar had been found, the Department took to their Facebook page once more to thank their community for their help the night before.

Chief Gerald Krivda noted that, "It was amazing to see neighbors joining together when we as a Police Department reached out to them in a time of need."

Krivda added, "I observed neighbors get out there of beds with flashlights ready to take on the entire night to join with our Law Enforcement Officers to search for a young child, it was tremendous."
