Police: Delaware woman faces hate crime charges after altercation

- Police say a woman has been arrested after an altercation outside a Delaware courthouse.

According to police, Joyce Barron, 58, of Newark, Delaware, initiated an argument with a passerby. Investigators say during the altercation Barron repeatedly shouted religious slurs and struck the victim multiple times. 

The victim was transported to the Wilmington emergency room for minor injuries. Barron was arraigned on the charges of Assault 3rd and Hate Crime (F). She was released on $3000.00 unsecured bond.
