Police ID suspect in elderly man's killing, $20,000 reward offered

Philadelphia police have an arrest warrant for a suspect in the killing of a 78-year-old man in his home, and there's a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

They say they're looking for 18-year-old Quintis Clark, whose last known address is on the 7200 block of Vandike Street in Tacony.

Last Tuesday, May 31, Philadelphia officers were called to 'Check the Well Being' of Joseph Daly at his Southwest Philadelphia home, in the 6300 block of Theodore Street.

They saw a broken rear window and unlocked back door. Then, they went inside and found Daly lying unresponsive on the living room floor with a pool of blood next to the right side of his head.

Daly had been beaten and strangled to death.

Neighbors had called 911 at about 1am the day before Daly was found, reporting a person screaming inside and then three young people running away from the house.

Police did not specify how they identified Clark. They're asking anyone with information on him to call the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or 215-686-3335.

Daly's 2003 Ford E150 was missing, but it was found on Thursday at Griscom and Oxford Avenue.

Daly served in the Navy, and neighbors said he loved the American Legion and his cats. He was known as a hardworking home improvement contractor and handyman who went to work every day. He'd lived in his house on Theodore Street for decades.
