Police in South Jersey search for suspects accused in two store thefts

NEW JERSEY (WTXF) Surveillance cameras inside the Gap Factory Store at Premium Outlets in Blackwood capture a daring and determined duo. They walk in with an empty shopping bag but leave, police say, with more $5,000 worth of clothing.

"Wow," said Mohammed Turay as he watched the video. It shows the man take not one or two items but stacks at a time before placing them in the bag.

"Like clearing the whole shelf," said Turay.

Gloucester Township Police say the suspects came to the store twice and did the same thing.

"It's crazy that the store employees didn't notice it and nobody else noticed it," said Dave Kenney. He’s shocked that the suspects pulled it off both times and left the store unnoticed.

"I am surprised because with the cameras, the sensors and just everybody around ratting people out," he said.

Even more shocking at least once in the video you see several people standing behind the pair while they appear to steal.

"And their faces are plain. They didn't even try to cover up or anything," said Alberta Pierce who just shopped at the store before hearing what happened.

Evesham Police reported a similar problem at Target on south Route 73.  They released surveillance pictures of three men who they say stole thousands of dollars in merchandise from the store last week.

"In this day and age you can't do stuff like that because the camera around and they're going to catch you," said Turay.
