Police investigate report of man who allegedly followed 12-year-old girl

PENNSAUKEN, NJ (WTXF) Pennsauken Police received a report of a male who allegedly followed a 12-year- old female.

The 12-year old girl recalled the terrifying moment to FOX 29. She says it allegedly happened as she left her Pennsauken home to pick up her younger brothers from school.

"I was about to come out the door to pick up my brothers and he was standing outside," she told FOX 29.

"He"-she says-was a man dressed in black, with a hoodie and mask on his face. who she says began to follow her.

It happened around 3:45 last Tuesday afternoon on the 4600 block of Springfield Avenue.

"He just kept staring at the house and when I turned back he was behind me. I started walking faster and then he started walking faster and then I started. Then, he then he started running after me," she explained.

According to the girl, she made it to Roosevelt Elementary school a few blocks away. She says the man had disappeared by the time she reached the school. She told a teacher what happened and the school called police.

"After checking the area for several hours, we were unable to locate anyone. We spoke to neighbors, we checked for any video. Couple houses had video we were unable to locate anything with any images on it," said Captain Michael Probasco.

According to police. they have stepped up patrols every day since receiving the report. But still no leads.
The girl's mother says she was upset.

Police say there haven't been any other reports since but the girl's mother says she's still uneasy.
