Newark, Del. (WTXF) Police in Newark are investigating a strong armed robbery of two University of Delaware students. Authorities need your help tracking down the two suspects.

Police say the robbery happened on Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Wilbur Street in Newark.

University of Delaware senior Rachel Blair witnessed firsthand the attack and robbery of her two fellow students. According to Rachel, she heard one of the girls scream and saw two men running past her with the victims' purses.

According to police, it didn’t take the men long to use the 21-year-old and 22-year-old’s credit cards at several Wilmington locations.

Detectives canvassed those stores and were able to obtain surveillance photos of the suspects. Police say the suspects arrived in a vehicle, which is believed to be an older model Mercury Mountaineer, gray or silver, with the license plate partially covered by paper.

University of Delaware sent out an email to students alerting them to the incident.
