12-year-old girl wounded in Fairhill triple shooting

Police say it appears at least 19 shots were fired from two weapons, including a high powered assault rifle and a handgun that were found in a car on the block.

"Preliminarily both of these weapons match the ballistic evidence that are on the scene," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

This is just the latest incident where a young child has been caught in the crossfire, struck by bullets meant for someone else. Neighbors say gunfire is not uncommon in this area, but lately the violence has escalated.
