Police say officers were patrolling a section of West Philadelphia early Saturday morning when they heard gunfire.
According to police, 4 men were sitting in a Toyota Corolla, near 56th Street and Haverford Avenue, and firing a weapon out the window. Officers pulled over and approached the vehicle, when one suspect fled. An officer was able to track the suspect down and put him in custody.
Officials say the other 3 suspects remained in the vehicle, but the driver refused to cooperate. According to police, he had his hands in his waistband, prompting the officer to fire his weapon and shoot the suspect in the arm.
The man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and is in stable condition.
During the roundup, police say another suspect took off running. The 4th suspect is still at large and police continue to investigate the incident.
