Police: Man Found in Vehicle with Concealed Weapon, Drug Paraphernalia

New Castle, Del. (WTXF) Police say they have arrested and charged Newark man after they found a concealed weapon and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

According to police, on Wednesday police found a suspicious vehicle that was running for over 30 minutes in front of the 1500 Block of Maple Ave during a proactive patrol. Police say they discovered that the driver, Bryan Perry 35, was sleeping while holding a cell phone.

Officers observed that Perry was carrying an illegal knife and drug paraphernalia was found in plain view, according to police. Police say they searched the vehicle and discovered a loaded Taurus .380 handgun concealed in Perry's backpack on the front seat.

Perry was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Firearm), Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Possession of Heroin and Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Dealing with a Switchblade.

Perry was released on a $12,000.00 Unsecured Bail.
