Police: Man Sexually Assaulted Prostitute He Couldn't Pay At Gunpoint

CHICAGO, IL- Police in Chicago have arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a prostitute at gunpoint.

According to FOX 32, Roy Akins had agreed to pay $180 for sex with a prostitute he found online but didn't have the money to pay her.

Authorities say when the woman arrived at his home, Akins, 29, went upstairs and brought the woman into a bedroom, where he revealed a gun and sexually assaulted the victim.

The woman then left the home and called police and went to a hospital for examination.

Investigators say Akins texted the woman later that day to apologize for what he did, and continued to apologize for several days after the incident. Akins was arrested after the victim, 24 was able to pick him out of a photo lineup.

FOX 32 reports that Akins admitted his actions to police.

Akins was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and was held on $750,000 bond.
