Police: Man sought in assault of woman in Chinatown

Police are asking for the public's help locating a man wanted in connection the assault of a woman in Chinatown. The incident happened on Nov. 18 at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the 1200 block of Vine Street.

Authorities say a 21-year-old woman was trying to break up a fight between a group of men. The suspect punched the victim when she attempted to pull a friend away from the altercation.

She was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where she was treated for facial fractures, a head injury, and a broken tooth.

The suspect is described as a black man, and between 30-40-years-old. He was wearing a sport coat, glasses, and a thick gold chain.
