Police release images of car involved in deadly hit-and-run

Philadelphia police have released surveillance photos of a car they believe was involved in a deadly hit-and-run in West Philadelphia.

Investigators say the car was traveling at a high rate of speed on Lancaster Avenue on Sunday morning when It struck a man near Aspen Street around 3:15 a.m.

The 61-year-old victim Kenneth Whithers was killed in the collision and the car fled the area in an unknown direction.

The victim's brother has a message for the driver

"I hope the guy has some type of remorse and turns himself in," Waymand Whithers said.

Police are now attempted to identify the make and model of the vehicle as well as its occupants. The vehicle may have damage to the hood and windshield as a result of the crash.
