Police release photo of van believed to be involved in hit-and-run

Police released a photo of a van believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Port Richmond.

Police say 31-year-old Eric Magny was killed in the hit-and-run on the 2200 block of East Allegheny Ave. on Oct. 14.

According to police, they are looking for a white Chevy Express Van--the kind that can fit 15 people inside. Police say it has a chrome and black front bumper with the right headlight assembly busted and looks to have damage on the right side of the bumper, which indicates a big impact.

"His shoe was found almost a block away indicating that the vehicle may have dragged one of his shoes all the way to the next corner, which is a distance of several hundred feet," Philadelphia Police Captain Drew Techner said.

Crash investigators believe the driver's door has dark marks on it though it could be a logo or something else. Also, there are tinted windows on all sides, including the back doors.

Detectives noticed the front bumper has a pale yellow license or vanity plate which could hold an NJ tag.

"Whoever was the motorist they need to come forward and contact the police so we can help solve this and bring some closure to the families," Captain Techner said.
