Police Search for Suspects in Juniata Home Invasion

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF)-Fear has spread throughout a neighborhood where police say two men forced their way into a Juniata home on the 4500 block of Whitaker Avenue.

The victims tell police the men were armed with a black handgun when they knocked on the front door of the home then barged in. They allegedly bound a woman's hands with zip ties and locked two children in the basement while demanding money from the woman. It happened just after four Wednesday afternoon. It's frightening to neighbors especially since it happened during the daytime.

"This was so unheard of when I was growing up, a home invasion and tying people up. It's just getting worse and worse. That's why people leave the city of Philadelphia. It's horrible," said John Smith who lives near where it happened.

No one answered the door at the victims home. Police say they weren't hurt and the suspects didn't take off with anything.
