Police Searching for Man Who Shot 12-Year-Old

 PHILADELPHIA-- A 12-year-old boy is recovering after being shot early Sunday morning. Now, police need your help finding the shooter.

Officers were called to the 3500 Block of Janney Street around 2:10 a.m. after a  woman awoke to someone coming into her home. When she went downstairs, her ex-boyfriend began  striking her and she fell to the floor.  The woman's 12-year-old son heard the commotion and came downstairs to see what was going on. At that time, the woman heard a gun shot.

She chased after shooter as he fled the scene but was unable to catch up with him. When she returned, she found her 12-year-old son bleeding after being shot in his upper leg. The boy was transported to an area hospital where he is in stable condition. 

Police are looking for 23-year-old Jamille Carter. He is 5'10, 170 lbs; last seen wearing all black clothing. Carter is known to frequent West Philly.
