Police: Victim In Fatal Hit and Run in Juniata Park Identified

The victim in the fatal hit and run in Juniata park on Sunday afternoon has been identified as 17-year-old Tyrone Alexander Tillman.

Tillman was from the 1900 block of East Atlantic Street. He was a rising senior at Edison.

On Sunday, police arrested a driver following a hit and run that left one man dead in Juniata Park.

Police say a the man was stuck while riding his bike along the 4100 block of North 2nd Street around 1:12 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

According to police, a female motorist was passing another vehicle and went into the wrong lane, causing her to strike the biker.

"We haven't had anyone come forward at this point," said Lieutenant John Stanford of the Philadelphia Police. "We're cross referencing the information we have in terms of the clothing description with missing person reports that we've been taking over the last few days. So, we're cross referencing those two, but nothing has jumped out at this point."

The driver fled the scene but was later apprehended by police at 7th and Atlantic Streets.

The victim was taken to Temple University where he was pronounced dead about at 1:43 p.m.

Police need assistance identifying the victim. The victim is a Black male, approx. 20 yrs, 5'9", 153 lbs, last wearing a blue nike t-shirt with bright yellow lettering, gray fleece sweat pants, multiple tattoos on both biceps, riding a gray huffy mountain bike and carrying a pink and black backpack.
