SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A man tried to rob a S. Broad Street Dunkin Donuts, according to police, but he got away with nothing.
Philadelphia police released surveillance of the incident from back on May 21.
They say the man approached the counter and told the cashier, "Don’t press any buttons." He then demanded money from the register.
The employee told him she couldn’t do that, so he implied he was armed with a weapon. Then, he reached over the counter and pressed buttons on the register, trying to open it.
That didn’t work, so he got away and was last seen heading east on Christian Street.
Nothing was taken and no injuries were reported.
The man is described as 5’6" tall with a heavy build, medium brown complexion, with freckles on his face. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
If you recognize him or know where he is, you’re asked to call 215-686-TIPS (8477), text a tip to PPDTIP (773847), or click here to submit a tip anonymously. Police say all tips will be confidential.
