Suspect in custody, charged in connection to shooting death of Port Richmond man
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a Port Richmond man on Thanksgiving Day.
18-year-old David Ramos Jr. was arrested at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, January 16 without incident in the Frankford section of the city. Members of the Homicide Fugitive Apprehension Unit made the arrest.
Ramos was charged with murder, robbery, and related offenses in reference to the shooting death of Ryan Kelly.
Kelly's parents made a plea in hopes of catching those behind the murder of their son on Thanksgiving morning earlier this month. Until now, even after police released photos of who they thought were behind this murder and other crimes there were no arrests.
That all changed Saturday.

It's been a tough holiday season for the Kelly family.
Honored and remembered - just five weeks after their 21-year-old son Ryan was gunned down. It happened on the 3500 block of Almond Street - one block from the family's Port Richmond home. Police released surveillance images of the suspects, but until Saturday, no arrests had been made. The Kelly's put out a plea for justice earlier this month.
"We have to get these people off the streets before they do it to someone else again some other family," his mother Cathy Kelly told FOX 29.
Police say the men who took Kelly's life are believed to be behind multiple armed robberies in the neighborhood. Investigators quickly recovered a stolen Mazda 6 that was likely connected to Kelly's killing.
"I just wish he was here. I miss him so much," said Cathy.
Cathy says she was a witness to her son's murder early Thanksgiving morning. She was waiting for him in the doorway of their home - he was returning from a late night trip to Wawa.
Haunting images of a young man whose family says was full of life - a huge flyers fan - who was always hanging out with his friends playing sports at the neighborhood recreation center.
"He was kind hearted a good friend a good brother . I just want people to know he didn't deserve this at all," said Ryan's brother William.
Ryan's family admits each day without their loved one has been incredibly hard- but knowing that his killers remain on the loose make it that much more unsettling...
"We're hoping and praying they find 'em quick because they don't have no value for life," said Ryan's father, Bill.
Family and friends of Ryan Kelly are holding a vigil at the Samuel Rec center on January 15th and 6:30 p.m. Also, as with any homicide case there is a $20,000 reward for anyone that offers information that leads to an arrest and conviction of those responsible.
