Tuesday's visit comes nearly two months after the Wildcats won their first title since 1985, on a buzzer beater by Kris Jenkins against North Carolina. Obama has made it a regular part of his administration to offer congratulations to championship teams and to note their efforts to give back to their communities.

The team also has been honored since the title with a parade in Philadelphia and by ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, along with other events.

Star Villanova guard Josh Hart and forward Kris Jenkins initially were expected to go into the NBA draft early but both opted instead to return to Villanova for their senior season.
