Wilmington rape suspect under arrest
WILMINGTON, Del. (WTXF) - Wilmington police officers arrested a rape suspect in the area of 14th and King Streets, early Thursday, after noticing he matched a picture.
They identified him as Dequan Rodriguez, 31, of Wilmington and say he provided a full confession.
Police say he was booked on two counts of rape, robbery, and three counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
The alleged sexual assault happened Tuesday morning near the Brandywine River on South Park Drive.
The victim reported she was attacked by a man with a weapon and forced into a secluded area.
Rodriguez is awaiting arraignment and no bail information is available at this time.
