Police: Robber with gun steals convenience store cash, tosses wig

A convenience store robber got money and then ditched his wig before getting away. Now, police are hoping you can help them catch him.

The robbery happened late Monday night in the North Hills section of Abington.

Police say an employee at the 7-Eleven in the 2800 block of Limekiln Pike was cleaning the hot food section next to the registers. That's when he noticed the robber pointing what appeared to be a black, semi-automatic hand gun with a long barrel at him.

The robber simply said "Open!" so the employee opened the register and gave him money.

He ran out the front door. A police K9 tracked the robber north on Cricket Avenue where police found the black dreadlocks wig and long-sleeved shirt he was wearing.

The robber is described as about 5' 9" tall with a dark complexion and thin mustache.
