Sarah Jessica Parker Ends Relationship With Drug Company Over EpiPen Price Hike

Sarah Jessica Parker shared a post on Instagram on August 25 in which she wrote she "ended [her] relationship" with pharmaceutical company Mylan in light of recent news it had raised the price of EpiPens to approximately $600. A two-pack of EpiPens cost about $100 in 2009.

Parker's post was a screenshot of a lengthy message she had written in response. It read in part, "I do not condone this decision and I have ended my relationship with Mylan as a direct result of it. I hope they will seriously consider the outpouring of voices of those millions of people who are dependent on the device."

It appeared that outrage against the company--Hillary Clinton shared a statement calling the price hike "outrageous"--has led the company to back down. According to reports, Mylan said it would take immediate action, including the introduction of a savings card that would cover as much $300 of the cost.
