School district confirms BB gun incident at local elementary school

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) A furious mother reached out to FOX 29 to tell us about an incident at William Cramp Elementary.

We sent FOX 29's Bill Anderson to find out what happened.

It was a scary situation on Thursday at a North Philadelphia elementary school when a mother says a 10-year-old brought a BB gun to school showed it to classmates and for no apparent reason started shooting them.

It happened at William Cramp Elementary in North Philly and a mother, who didn't want to be identified, was happy it was only a BB gun but alarmed that 10 year olds were able to bring any kind of gun into the school.

The school district confirmed the incident and said that the child was arrested and charged with simple assault and weapons offenses. None of that made this mother feel any better.

Aside from some bruises and cuts none of the children were seriously injured but the mother chose to speak out because she believes there's a larger message.

Still no word on how the child got the BB gun or why he shot it at students who are his friends who were identified as his friend Unfortunately for all involved one 10 year old now faces charges, others facing fear and parents left thinking it was a bb gun this time, what happens next time?
